Fifth Generation

The Pilson farm has currently been around for five generations. Lee Alexander Pilson was my grandpa and a third generation farmer when he began his farming career. My grandfather, great-grandfather and great great-grandfather were all farmers. They all depending solely on the farm for providing for their families and during those times that was all you could hope for. Lee Alexander Pilson, my grandpa, fathered six children with my grandma Sybil. Of the six one decided to follow in his father's foot steps, Chester Vince Pilson, my father. Chester is a fourth generation farmer. He molded the farm into a true business. Like the three generation's before him he has depended on the farm to provide for his family as well. My father, Chester, and mother, Kathy, have two children; Myself and sister Charlene. I have chosen the career path of my father. My father has laid the perfect foundation for me to continue the family heritage. My father made his name from Sweet Potatoes and Tobacco, I am taking over the farming operation and no longer grow Tobacco, only Sweet Potatoes and Produce.

Farming's in our blood

Pictured above is Cliff Pilson in the lap of his father Chester Pilson as they plow tobacco in the early 90's. Cliff had to go home early that day because his mom, Kathy wouldn't allow him to work too hard yet.

Eat Farm Fresh And Choose Us!

We provide our customers with fresh and safe produce that keeps everyone coming back! We are USDA "GAP" certified on all products that we grow on the farm. We get our farm certified every season to ensure we are growing our product without risk of contamination leading to safe food for you!

The sooner you can eat your produce the better! Fruits and vegetables begin to lose their nutritional values as soon as they are harvested, some do so more than others. The only true way to preserve the values in your produce is to find a way to purchase it fresher. That's where we come in, most all our produce from the farm is picked the day of or before to be available to our customers. This way we know you are not only getting a better product, but it is a healthier one!

With all that being said don't forget to eat farm fresh and choose us!

Our Farm

Sweet Potato Warehouse

This is where our sweet potatoes are cured, stored and packed. With proper storage sweet potatoes can be held up to 12 months. After harvest and during the fall/winter months people come here to purchase sweet potatoes, in whatever quantities, be it one case or fifty cases.

Farm Stand

This is where our customers come to get fresh produce directly from the farm. Most of the time the produce that you take home with you is within viewing distance of our stand, out in the fields. It can't get any fresher than that!

Greenhouse

We grow a crop of tomatoes out of here for the spring season. It also doubles as the environment for all of our vegetable transplants for field production.
